Split E Mechanism

Favoured in the UK by many players, the split E divides the action of the upper and lower G keys, permitting the lower G to close when the third octave E natural is played.

High E Facilitator

An alternative to the E mechanism, this E facilitator (also known as a donut) is a ring which is inserted into the lower G tone hole to improve the response of the flute's high E without adversely affecting other notes. The high E facilitator can be added to any Miyazawa flute at any time.

C# Trill

The C# trill key is somewhat unfamiliar to many flutists, but it is an extremely useful mechanism. Not too common in the UK, the C# trill is favoured in the US and is also becoming popular in other European countries.

A flute with a C# trill key is often purchased by flutists who are looking for an easy solution to the awkward third register G-A trill, however, the C# trill key can also be used to facilitate numerous other trills and tremolos.
